So it's all getting a bit mad here, and there will be lots more to come in the coming weeks. Elle is in her last week in her current job, and is going to her new job tomorrow morning for a training course. We are enquiring with our landlady about how much notice we need to give her to move out. And we are planning to view houses in north, north west and south west London next week - I've taken two days off work to do that.
In the meantime normal life plods on. It was editorial weekend for the radio magazine so I spent Thursday and Friday evening on that, finishing it off on Sunday afternoon. On Saturday I hosted Grooveline, which will now definitely be one of the last shows on Blast 1386 as our days in Reading are numbered.
After the show I headed to Twickenham for the annual British DX Club gathering at 4pm. It was a good day and good to catch up with the guys, some of whom I hadn't seen for two years. 3 hours in the pub by the River Thames was followed by a meal in a nearby Indian restaurant, and another drink to wash it down before coming back to Reading. It was a very pleasant evening weatherwise, with all of the eating and drinking taking place outside.
I got a bit of a lie in on Sunday before finishing off the magazine, then heading to Slough for my radio show, which went very well considering it was the first show in three weeks.
This week we've been looking a little more at our options for the move, and looking out paperwork for this house. Plus, of course, work.
As for the subject line, I was walking back from Hanover Square in London, where I take my break from work, if it is nice weather, and found a dead pigeon on the road. That wasn't all - I found a massive seagull pecking away at the carcass quite happily. Cannabalism? Then I felt really sad, as I saw a crowd of pigeons on the sidewalk looking at this taking place with them trying to walk over to the dead pigeon, maybe to see who it was :-(
What a poor way to end a blog post!
